The University of Waterloo Steel Bridge Design Team is a collection of students passionate about the engineering design process. The team provides students the opportunity to apply knowledge learned in both the classroom and the workplace to a unique design challenge. Students also gain hands-on experiences with all stages of structural steel design, from design to fabrication and ultimately construction of the bridge structure.

At the University of Waterloo, students of the Faculty of Engineering participate in a cooperative (coop) program, which exposes them to the real world before graduation. Coop/school cycles are every four months, which forces our team to be split up into two streams. These streams, A-Society and B-Society, allow the team to run for the full length of the year, but with an added communication and continuity challenge.
